YOGA Styles

Restorative

Restorative yoga involves long held poses in which our objective is to be as comfortable as possible, feeling that the body is fully held & supported by the use of props (blocks, blankets, bolsters, straps etc.). This allows us to gently drop down layer by layer, into a state of deep relaxation in which the body & mind can rest & renew.

Yin

Yin yoga is a series of static, passive poses that stimulate the deep connective tissue in & around the joints & muscle. The gentle stress of these long-held poses strengthens & hydrates the web of connective tissue throughout the entire body (known as fascia), releasing deep held tension, increasing our ease of movement & creating a sense of spaciousness in the body.

Hatha Flow

In this practice we flow through a series of standing & seated asana at a slow to moderate pace, giving us the time to consciously settle into each pose. While strengthening & stretching the body we focus on our sensations, working from the inside out, connecting our breath to our movement.

YIN/YANG

This practice balances active & passive energies, beginning with a more dynamic sequence to generate heat & release any stagnant energy before allowing the body to slow down & rest in a series of Yin and/or Restorative poses.
